You can wander to the beach straight from town via the iconic break wall or slip through one of the tracks leading from the surrounding park.

Just a short drive, Crowdy Bay National Park opens up a world of rugged cliffs, sweeping beaches and coastal bushwalking. At its peak sits the historic Crowdy Head Lighthouse, rewarding visitors with panoramic ocean views that are particularly stunning at sunrise and sunset. Back near town, the break wall and tidal lagoon offer relaxed adventure for everyone, fish from the rocks, paddle a kayak along the calm river edges, or watch the boats drift by. From May through October, keep your eyes on the horizon, this coastline is one of the best vantage points for spotting migrating humpback whales as they journey past Harrington and Crowdy Head.
